Introduction to global health concepts with application to designated study abroad site.
Are you interested in a one-credit course while exploring nursing in England?
We have partnered with the University of Chester in the United Kingdom so that you can learn about nursing in the UK while also touring London and Chester. You will learn about the UK National Health Service (NHS), spend time in practice environments with British nurses, and participate in simulation at the University of Chester simulation lab. In addition, we have arranged for you to tour the Florence Nightingale Museum, the city of London, and the city of Chester.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Compare and contrast the health care system of the United Kingdom with the United States.
- Collaborate with peers from the United Kingdom to develop a practice improvement project on a clinical issue of interest to both populations.
- Increase knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice in the United Kingdom.
