Academic Advising

Your academic adviser can be a great resource for you during your college career. Working with advisers, students assume responsibility for their education and become lifelong, self-directed learners and decision-makers.

Questions about a nursing major?
Email nursing@psu.edu or call 814-863-2229.

Want to connect with your adviser?
To schedule a phone or Zoom appointment with your academic adviser, check their availability on Starfish. Starfish will ask you “What do you need help with?” whenever you log in to make an appointment. Make sure to choose “Advising for assigned advisees” rather than “Advising for any student.” Selecting “assigned advisees” allows you to see appointment times on your adviser’s calendar that are only available to students on their roster.

Studying at a Commonwealth Campus?
Commonwealth Campus students are assigned an academic adviser within their program. This adviser serves as their point of contact and should be consulted frequently, especially when registering for classes and making academic decisions. Assigned advisers can be found in LionPath. Follow the links below for more information about advising at some of the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing locations.
