On Interprofessional Education
“While participating in an “In Her Shoes” Interprofessional Educational Event many nursing students verbalized increased empathy and understanding of the physical, mental health and safety issues faced by individuals (women and men) experiencing domestic abuse that they would understand in a standard lecture. Nursing students identified strategies that nursing in collaboration with social workers, social service, mental health, and law enforcement could implement to increase successful outcome for domestic abuse survivors. They also identified soft skills that could improve communication between professionals involved.”
