Susan Kukic leads the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing’s development and alumni relations team. After almost 8 years at the college, Susan joined Penn State Outreach and Online Education as the senior director of development and alumni relations for two years, then returned to the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing in January 2024. As founding director of development and alumni relations for the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing, Susan provided leadership for the establishment of the college’s development operations and Alumni Society Board. She also secured Penn State’s second-largest gift to an academic unit (which named the college) and raised millions in undergraduate and graduate student support, as well as support for research and programs. Susan’s career at Penn State also included an 18-month tenure as director of major gifts for the College of Health and Human Development.
Susan is an alumna of the Penn State Smeal College of Business and has more than 29 years of fundraising, foundation management, and administrative leadership experience. Prior to joining Penn State, Susan served as executive director for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, founding executive director for Camphill Soltane Foundation, and director of special programs for its sister organization, Camphill Foundation. She also spent five years building a small cottage company that is still a viable small business owned by someone else today.
