“IPE in the educational space helps healthcare professionals to develop communication skills across specialties. As newly graduated professionals enter their new work environment, they may face the challenge of connecting or collaborating with others as they are developing confidence in their new roles. Understanding how each specialty impacts patient outcomes is central to positive results whether it be for the patient, their family or assigned care team. IPE allows for practice of this type of communication skill that builds teams that can appreciate other perspectives, ideas, responsibilities and competencies.”
